Television channels are competing with each other these days. There's a scramble to acquire the Satellite Rights of feature films. The market, which was down till a few months ago, is piping hot right now and lucrative deals are being signed left, right and centre. The film producers/right holders, obviously, are smiling from ear to ear. In several cases, the price offered by TV channels is correlated with the performance of the film at the ticket window. If the theatrical business is fantastic, the returns are bountiful. In certain cases, the films are sold prior to their release, which works well for a film-maker since he recovers a big chunk of the investment much before the film has hit the screens and the verdict is out.
